get a new rad. temp. snesor. I believe they are only like $30 from the dealer. They just screw right in, then you just have to connect 1 wire.

on a series four there is a water temp switch located on the bottom, rear, left side of the radiator. It's a switch. It has no continuity up until 62 degrees of water temperature....then it's an made circuit. It WILL effect the operation of the ACV if the wires are left off. It's emission related in its function. If you have an aftermarket radiator with no sensor at the bottom left....then just join the two wire together in a butt splice.

This is not to be confused with the coolant level switch on the very top of the radiator. That a single wire affair. It's dedicated to the idiot light cluster.

Also not to be confused with the water thermo switch on the backside of the water pump which is used for info to the ECU for fuel delivery.

But if you want your temp gauge to read the you have to change the sensor located at the rear, drivers side of the engine down under the oil filter---its the small one --the large thing is the oil pressure sender.
