Thanks a lot guys. It looks like I will go with the Ractive. The ease of fitting sold me. I read in other posts thatsome ebay ones were tricky. I'd rather spend $20 more and have it fit right. (BUt still not $100 more to have it minimally more stiff) Thanks for the advice.

I have a drivinggear/megan racing strut bar... it required about 45 mins of test fitting/grinding to get a good fit, and now it rubs against the heatshielding on the hood...
Oh well, if I take a hard downhill turn, the car feels noticably stiffer up front, and is more prone to bringing the *** around, which is what we like. Something makes me wonder if my DTSS was eliminated....

I dont think it is rice at all, in fact its not. You dont drive arround with your hood off do you?? I dought you do so its not rice at all. I've only heard good things about the ebay strut bars. I've heard they make a good difference in handling

Theres the links to a bunch of the cheapys on ebay. Well, the first one is expensive. The rest are all under $15 i think.

to the guys who say it is rice I don't understand
as far as "THE e-bay" strut bar I used it with good results
*** end spun on me once which it has never done before without me trying ot make it heappen
doesn't weight much
is already fairly stiff
only worries I had include the mounting holes don't fit but a dremel with a carbide bit fixed that
and the mounting points for the bar itself look a little weak compared to others but I don't think enough to make that big of a difference if I really get too worried can always weld something brace on the brace to make it strong but don't see that going on anytime soon

I finally got the bar in today. I bring it out to my car thinking the box looks pretty small. I pull out the bar and the mounts don't even come close to fitting over the tower and the bar itself is about 2 or 3 inches short. Great... heres a pic

Hmmmmm.....
When you get ahold of the seller to get one for an FC - make sure he gets the serial number right. For a silver bar made for an FC - the number is MZ02BA. He sent you an MZ03BA.
The difference is the 02 (for second gen) or 03 (for 3rd gen.)
But it is definately an FD bar that was advertised as an FC bar.

My ebay bar required a little grinding and testfitting as well - but since I was having a bunch of other mechanical stuff done at the same time, the performance shop put it on for free, no labor.
SDP rocks!

My ebay one did need som grinding to get around the strut hole but went on pretty easy.
My Alternator Barely touched it though and touched my hoods blanket a bit.
I can't cpmplain though. It was cheap and I noticed a big difference.
I'll probably have to get a racing beat one or something now that I have a TII engine.
