@clokker: By far, hands down, the most comfortable racing bucket I've ever come across is the Bride Vios III LoMax. With Sparco 4-point harnesses it gave me a more comfortable, enjoyable, and held in ride than anything I've ever sat in before. This includes my friends E55 AMG, which those seats are just pure German rediculousness. ******* heated massages man...
Aww bummer I didn't see the Bride Vios on evasivemotorsports.com, any site you recommend to buy those from? Looks like google like this Vivid racing vios seat linky

Oh meant to add, did you sit in one of these in an rx7?

Another edit: Looks like those seats were not as cheap as I thought they were, google had a low price of 156 and when I finally looked on real sites it was more like 900. The 156 was for break rotors with a similar title *face palm* Never mind, much out of my price range. Those other ones that were posted a few links back, Kirky, I think it was. Were pretty damn good price. I assume those fit the rx7?

Yes, they are quite expensive, but are worth the money. And no, they were not in an FC, but rather my buddies S13 240. He has the same setup on both the driver and passenger side. Bride Vios III LoMax, Bride sliding seat rail, Sparco 4-point harness. Total price per side was about $1300 before shipping. So i find his offer of the passenger side for $600 for the seat/harness quite appealing

Yikes! That is almost what I am about to drop for a TII engine + tranny lol. I guess I;ll just need to wait on the seats. I will need to figure out why the seat is wobbling though. It doesn't do it when my fiance drives so it might be that part of the rail is loose or something when I pull the seat back.

Serious?

You want seats? Go look at Corbeau. They're reasonably priced, good quality and comfortable. Plus, Corbeau makes rails for the FC.

Corbeau UK seems to have WAY better seat designs but I'm sure you can find them here if you looked hard enough for an importer.

Don't buy cheapie knockoff seats. They're garbage. If you want F.I.A. approved seats, be prepared to spend in upwards of 1k+ each. You don't need F.I.A. approved seats for the street though. Just good quality ones.

Their 'Euro' racing seats look like Corbeau knockoffs.

Fabbing up a horn is easy.

BTW, I was just reading their eBay ad and saw this:
Most factory steering wheels are 380mm is diameter. By switching to a smaller sport wheel(320MM), the driver is able to turn the same distance with smaller effort because of increased leverage.
Clearly, these people have no idea how a lever works.

Yes I have Cipher Auto seats in my DSM. They are a lot nicer than any of the ebay seats I've sat in various people's cars.

Another friend of mine, with an autocross prepped S14, runs a Corbeau, and he said it is probably one of the last seats he would use for a daily. His exact word were, "They're comfortable for the short time you're in the car, but when I tried to daily them, they were not very comfy at all."

I did not have a chance to sit in them (me and the kid with the S13 were prepping the car for paint), so I cannot attest to the statement, but he has had his fair share of cars to know whats good for a daily and whats not.

A buddy of mine got the CipherAuto Recaro style reclineable, it was waaay too bulky. We even made custom brackets so that the seat would sit on the floor and his head was almost touching the roof. He's only 5'8, just a heads up I guess.

Ohh, I'll keep that in mind. I love all the feedback. But like I said it's not a daily driver. Occasional night out maybe when I feel like showing off the car when it's finally finished. The most driving that it will get is the trip to the track which sadly is about 40 miles+ (It might be upwards of 60) outside of town. So about an hour in the car on crap road then the rest of the day on track smooth pavement

All is good Just please remember not to cheap out on things, no matter if you have to wait and save on whatever you're getting. And just be aware that there is a fake version of literally everything you can buy on a car, so just be careful and do good research on what you're buying before you buy it. Mazda has given you a great car to start with, don't F it up. lol.

DO NOT BUY E-BAY JUNK!! I personally went the "cheap" route for my wheel+hub combo. And I had nothing but nightmares with it. I eventually ended up giving in and buying a Momo hub + wheel @ $350+ shipped. The E-bay wheels themselves are not "that" bad but the Momo quality is untouchable imo. The real problem is those hubs.

The problem with the ebay hub, even though it fits (so they say) it is ****. I will post some pics when I'm done work. Basically there is no spacer between the hub and the spline. When you tighten the nut down enough so the wheel doesn't flop around, your steering angle sensor/ indicator cancel will have too much pressure on it and you will get the 4 beep warning (if I'm not mistaken by the # of beeps). It's the warning for steering wheel angle being off. I tried repositionning the wheel about a thousand times. I even went to the FSM, pulled out the multimeter and carried out the resistance check with no luck. As soon as I Installed the Momo hub the beeps stopped.
I don't want anyone to have this same problem. Just beware.

Um quick question, who's car is it? I can understand asking your wife about the price but why does she have to like it also? I dont give a hill of beans if my fiancé likes anything I do to my car, she has her own.
Anyways what's your max budget on seats? I would definitely go with corbeau for bang for buck, last time I checked they also sold brackets for our cars as well.
I have some cheap "eBay" seats I have daily'd for the past 2 years and they are already shot. No support. And don't jump to weight, I'm 6'0 and weigh 142.
And as far as a harness I would also say corbeau, they have a "4" point that uses all the stock belt mounting locations and is retractable so you can still lean your seat forward if need be.

It a project car that we both bought (We are both really big into anime and intially wanted a AE86 but couldn't find one for a good enough price). We decided on the RX7 because it's one of MY favorite cars and she loved the look of it too. And oh my the sound of the rotary engine, sends chills up my spine and I drive a Camaro lol. I'm a sucker for a good exhaust note and BOV. She hasn't been that excited to work on it (mostly because it's cold outside and she has been playing a lot of Lord of the Rings Online), but I know she wants to drive it. I was supposed to work a little on it with my Dad too but he passed away a few months ago so it's back to having the woman help me.

I'll check out the seats you recommended. I might end up holding off now since I just recalculated my budget (and the fact that I bought some louvers for my Camaro hehe) I might not have anything left for seats when I am done. Still need the random parts the airflow sensor and all that good stuff for the TII when I get it. Also a boost gauge. I'm not really on a budget build but the more money I can save the more I will have to refinish the interior. (Seats and upholstery mostly)

But I have a TII engine+tranny on the way drive shaft, engine mounts and spoiler. Just need to try and find a local TII hood for sale because it would be much cheaper to pick one up than to have it shipped. Craigs list dried up out here though and the junk yard has nada. Now if I lived in Cali I would be drowning in hoods. *shakes fist*

I'm sorry to hear about your father, shadowghost21. I originally assumed you were just looking for a cheap steering wheel. After seeing the many responses to this thread, and reading more about quality seats and steering wheels... I realize that these particular interior pieces are some of the most crucial safety instruments. I'd never advise anyone to buy anything that were deemed "unsafe" or "unreliable"... Go with quality. Safety > money.

$640 for a pair of Corbeau A4's. cloth, wide size. Does anyone have any experience with their wide sized seats and FC fitment? I have been meaning to get a tap measure out, but I always forget by the time I home.

I would never, never trust a cheap quick release adapter. I tried out on a few years back and they have WAYYY to much play in them when they're new. Just imagine how they would be after a few months of abuse.

Comb through ebay and you can find a nice wheel for cheap. I bought my Momo Corse 320mm wheel for $50-$60 on ebay around 2 years back slightly used. It's held up very well. The hub I have is some universal one I paid around $25 new for off ebay and it's worked well with some modification. (I had to shave down the turn signal sensor plastic cylindrical piece and re-drill my own holes on the back of the hub for the turn signal cylindrical piece fingers to sit in at the correct angle.)

Try getting the hub on an airbag equipped convertible, its a real pain in the *** to get a hub and keep the clock switch happy. Dont know what you consider a cheap quick release, but i have been using an NRG 2.5 quick release with a momo mod 69 for over 2 years without issue. On that note the NRG steering wheels I have seen seem a little to flimsy for my liking.
