Racing Seat Install
Hello. I have a 1991 mazda rx-7 convertible and my seats are shot. I want to get these racing seats off of ebay http://m.ebay.com/itm/321210018048?nav=WATCHING&sbk=1 What else do I need. If you could send links that would be great. Thank you Also how can i still keep the speakers in the headrest working but mounted elsewhere
Also if you look at the pictures in the description it seems like everything needed is there

"Reclineable sliders" and "PVC leather"?
Those are pretend seats.
As for mounting aftermarket seats in general...
The drivers side is pretty simple, the mount points are (almost) symmetrical and flat.
The passenger side is much more difficult as the inside edge is at an angle, spaced further forwards and not even on the same plane as the outside mount.
No idea about the speakers.

can't have cake and eat it too.
You are either replacing seats without speakers or doing a stereo install without seats.
You can get rail kits for the seats, but if you are buying those seats, then you may as well Fab/modify the old rails. The kit would be as much as the seats.(no offense)

Real racing seats don't recline, and usually have an FIA certification. I think that regular seats are better for a convertible.
Yes, you could remove the headrest speakers and mount them somewhere else, but you probably would not hear them.
Have you checked into getting your original seats reupholstered?

I have to agree with everyone else here.
Never got a quote on seats, but parts and labor for a brand new vert top is $1300, so I can't imagine reupholstering seats would be near that.
