Racing Beat Turbo Back exhaust

How much of a real HP gain is there over stock w/o the boost creep that people say is the main part of that 59HP gain.
Also what else is needed to keep the car running nicely when the exhaust is added. Any extra fuel needs? I guess you would need an FCD, and any intake upgrades needed for that exhaust?
And for fixing the boost creep what would need to be done? Porting the wastegate or upgrading the spring?

How long along in the upgrading line can that exhaust last.
Like at what stage would it be good to get a better exhaust, if needed.

NODE- with RB full turbo exaust + intake id add the a pair of cleaned GSL-SE injectors for the secondary. You will also need the FCD.
My TII when it was streetported with the RB exaust and it made alot of power.

What do you mean buy changing spring???. do you mean if you have an external wastegate??...All i know is you can port the GTR wastegate to eliviate boost creep. I also know that using the GTX turbo/ manifold helps prevent boost creep if you have an 87-88 TIIs.

Hope that helps!

Thanks alot man, I'm also talking to wargasm on AIM, and he has a T2 and Racing Beat. I forgot that the stock turbos have internal wastegates.
Did you ever Dyno your car?
And hopefully I'll be getting my FC before my 18th birthday (may 26)

Wargasm ported his wastegate from 15mm to 17mm and has a PFC FCON and said he needed bigger fuel injectors if I can remember all of that correctly, I'll let him correct me if I was wrong or missed anything
And thanks for Person Of The Year vote.

Most of the gain IS the boost creep.

When I installed this system on my 87 TII, my boost was hitting 14 or even 15 psi without any boost controller "helping". That's a sure way to blow it up if your fuel system is stock.

I had a HKS PFC-FCON (comes with an FCD also) on the car, but that can't help you any more than the max flow rate of your injectors... which on my car are still all stock.

So I took off the turbo and measured the wastegate hole to be 15 mm. I enlarged it to about 17 mm or so, and put it back together. I could have gone a little more, but I was being a chicken.

Now the car hits about 12-13 psi on cold nights (still with no boost controller) and I still have the PFC-FCON and stock injectors/stock pump. I don't feel 100% safe running like this, but it hasn't blown up in the last 35-40k miles... (crosses fingers).

I think to be REALLY safe, I'll bore the wastegate a little more the next chance I get and I am also going to put in some GSL-SE injectors (Which will work on early 87 TIIs) for secondaries.

Some people have reported (Jeff Hotchkinson?? spelling??) that simply plopping in some GSL-SE secondaries actually HURT their performance (presumably due to running too rich). I plan to try to correct that by using a wideband O2 sensor and opening up my PFC-FCON and fiddling with the rich/lean screw in there until it runs well.

Regards,
Brian

GSL-SE injectors for the secondary is probably your best bet. Then tune the F-CON!..

Get an upgrade fuel pump at the very least.&nbsp A Walbro 255lph upgrade fuel pump is cheap insurance at a little over $100.

I don't recommend running larger fuel injectors unless you're running an A'PEXi S-AFC to control them.&nbsp There have been conflicting experiences with running (just) larger secondaries as it might or might not induce a bog on the fuel injection crossover at around 4kRPM.&nbsp The larger fuel pump will get you rich across the RPM band, so it's unnecessary to go find some larger fuel injectors at this point.

The boost should hold at 12-13psi.&nbsp Yes, I'll agree that boost creep should rear it's ugly head on an 1986-1988 Zenki FC turbo, so get a boost gauge to keep tabs on your boost levels.

they only have 2 injectors which are 680cc. compared to 4x550 of a turbo II. so yes they are bigger.
