Racing Beat Springs for Vert

To anyone that has them, are they worth the money? Is the drop noticeable at all? Should I just go with the coupe springs?

I would love to get them too! Those combo'd with the Racing Beat strut lowering mounts will give a 1 1/2" drop in the front and the Vert springs give a 3/4" drop in the rear.

I put RB sway bars and vert springs on both of my cars. Tokico blues on one. KYB AGXs on the other. I'm very happy with the setups. Dropped about 1 inch if I remember right. My only point of reference is the tired OEM springs, shocks and struts. Hardly a fair comparison. But the RB logic makes sense. The vert chassis is different.

On their website it says its only a half inch drop. It was a full inch on yours?

Use coupe springs, and their front mounts/lowering kit does not give as much as advertised i think it was another half inch

Keep in mind if you have tired old suspension the drop might not be noticeable , its more for performance than super low

Well the coupe springs are softer though. I'm going mainly for performance, drop is just a bonus

Got your info backwards , their vert springs have a lower spring rate than the coupe springs

I was a good little engineer...recorded the height before & after. But it's been a couple years now. I don't remember for sure and I'm on the road this week...can't check my records. Honestly, I made the upgrades to get better handling & just trusted that RB knew what they were doing when they designed a spring set specific for convertibles.

I called them today and they said the vert springs are stiffer to accomodate the extra weight

I had the same convo with them years ago and asked why the coupe had a had a higher rate and their website says the same

Perhaps the coupe has a shorter, stiffer spring than the vert but so many run coupe so thats what i did and i wanted a little more drop anyhow

Racing Beat has designed suspension coil springs that are suitable for a street or track use. This complete set of front and rear suspension springs were designed specifically for the 1986-91 RX-7 (except convertible) by Racing Beat's engineering staff. Ideally suited for use with either the OEM shocks, or your favorite aftermarket units, these springs interchange exactly with the stock springs on the RX-7.

These springs have been designed with a rate increase of approximately 20% (front - 156 lb/in) and 20% (rear - 128 lb/in) with a modest drop of 1-inch (front and rear).

Coupe is a stiffer spring that gives a little more drop so iwould say vert springs for a little more comfort and coupe for little more performance
If you have original suspension and use the vert springs i would say the drop wont even be noticed

I used coupe RB springs on mine. They are definitely a lower drop than the RB vert ones. Ride comfort RB coupe vs RB vert is negligible. I had good condition o.e.m springs and shocks before the swap btw.
