Racing Beat Spring, Ground Control caster camber

I have a 1987 SE Rx7.
My issue is that I have a caster problem, from left to right side there is about .8 of a degree difference and ive got a positive camber on the passenger front.
I wanted to purchase caster/camber plates from Ground Control. Their plates do not work well with factory springs as the diameter is to wide and doesnt give much room for adjustment before hitting sheet metal. Ground Control shows options for a 2-1/2 , 2-1/4 or 60mm inside diameter for the spring. I have Racing beat springs, does anyone know the inside diameter for these springs so I can order the correct caster/camber plates.

Thank you for any help. I really just need the specs on the springs if anyone has them.

The upper strut mount on these cars is mounted off-Center. It's obviously been apart if it has aftermarket springs; have you verified both sides have the same rotation on the upper mount? I've always kept mine rotated to get max castor and neg. camber (upper mount rotated so that the strut bolt is closest to the back and engine on each side). You can go with castor camber plates, I'm just suggesting you check the for the easy solution first.

Yes Sir, I have adjuster the upper mounts, as they are eccentric and rotating the top mount will change the caster and camber. the problem is no matter where i set the mount in the tower I cant get the caster or camber to come into a reasonable spec, I think factory it supposed to be around 4.7 on the caster, and on the driver side the best I can get is 4.1 and the passenger side is 3.4. with that much difference I am getting a pull. I figured the only way I was going to get enough adjustment is going with plates.

Fair enough, I just wanted to check the easy had been looked to. You are right, the discrepancy you are seeing is high.

Just for giggles, my next try is going to be to loosen the lower control arms and put a ratchet strap
and pull the assembly one direction or the other to try to take up some of the difference. DONT JUDGE ME. LOL

The plates do not work with factory-style springs, which includes Racing Beat's springs. The picture on their website isn't accurate. Double check the springs before buying anything else.

It doesn't sound like you're opposed to some camber (aka crash) bolts instead of the camber plates. It won't fix the castor, but you'll have a lot more money left over for other items.

rx7 club needs a like button, rx7speed16. that is the info I needed, thank you. And crash bolts it is. I will try to get the caster on on way or another. I really did want to avoid plates.

superpro sells offset rear control arm bushings that add caster....

but it sounds like your frame might be bent a little. you might want to look into taking it to a body shop and having them measure the frame rails.

I agree about the frame, it may be bent, the prevous owner did say it was in an accident a long time ago that insurance covered it amd was repaired. Its just so darn close. At the closest point I had only about .6 or .7 of a dgree difference. When I finnaly got tired of messing with it I ended with about .8 degree. I will try some final tweeking and see what that does.

Thank you to everyone for all the help and replies.

I've had cars out by less than a degree from bad ball joints/bushings. I'm not saying that is it but...
