not sure what they sell at rx7 but the full Racing beat (both turbo or N/A) are the best. if N/A it's loud!! but anything will be. both are $$$ though. I think the N/A setup is like $1200 with headers and the turbo one is $800 if they are making it again.

the claim 50-60 HP on turbo and I think around 30 on N/A

I just installed the rx7.com system a few hours ago(I want a system that has good performance, but still looks like it's stock aka..."asleep"). The system is made very well, might have a few scratches in it (not the tips, the rest of the system is painted black). I bought the full exhaust system (mufflers, y-pipe, pre-silencer, and high flow cat), so I don't know what just the cat-back will do. But I can tell you this, it has a DEFINATE wicked sound compared to stock. It doesn't sound like the coffee can type civic exhaust that people spoke of earlier (perhaps its the mufflers they used with the cat). It has a deep sound like there's much more than 1.3 liters of pure rotary bliss hiding under the hood. But remember even though it has ridiculous flow over the stock system (which after you upgrade really shows how much it sucks!), you have to deal with the 5th and 6th port because there is no longer enough pressure to open them. I have yet to deal with that, but I will get to it soon. I don't drive the car so it's being strictly worked on until I am completely finished. By the way one note on the muffler system and cats, there is a black hanger that comes with the catback system that DOES NOT mount anywhere. It's about 4 inches off the point where the stock y-pipe was mounted and the hangers don't stretch that far! But I have an idea on how to make it work...either way it doesn't matter because after everything is done it doesn't hang in the least bit. I have yet to test the full power of the car so I can't comment on it yet but reving it in the drive tells the tale of a true beast and not just a lot of noise! It's great...shell out the cash if you want the sleeper look otherwise go for the racing beat polished aftermarket look.

I believe that Dynomax makes the mufflers for the RX7.com exhaust. They might even make the whole system for that matter. Racing Beat is the way to go between the Two. I personally have the Apexi N1 and like it a lot.

I've been trying to get some feedback for weeks on this subject to no avail. KiyoKix, did you get the Bonez system(hi flo cat and rp catback?I like the Racing Beat system (cat replacement, pre-silencer and cat back) but how does everyone deal with visual inspections for a catalytic converter? Where I live in Va. we do not have emissions but visual only.

Does anyone know the performance difference between the Racing beat set-up (non-header) and the Bonez Hi-flo cat, RP catback? If so please help me with opinions!!!

My 7 is ready for the upgrade!

Alright, pretty much the only difference in HP will come between the hi-flo cat and the cat replacement pipe. You prolly won't see much, if any, difference between the catbacks. You will see a little more hp with the RB cat replacement.

For your emissions issue....if you only have a visual, just keep your stock cat(you can even empty it out) and it should fit in the same place as the hi-flo one. If not take it to a shop to have the necessary piping added on. Then you can put it on when inspection comes around.

I have the HKS system on my NA, however if I had to do it again, I will definetly will GO with a custom Dynomax system (which is what RX7.com sells). Dynomax is one the the less restrictive exhaust out there, it is not very noisy\loud, and it will cost you WAY less money!

Do a search on Yahoo for Dynomax exhaust, and then look for RX7 aplications.

Yes I bought the bones superflo system from rx7.com. Like I said I wanted a stock looking system that had a good performance gain, and I'm perfectly sure I got one. Not to mention that it's true the RX7.com sales team is freaking great. I don't think it's dynomax that makes the exhaust systems for rx7.com because when you get it, it comes with bonez racing stickers and not dynomax, as does all the bonez racing labled stuff. So I think it's safe to assume that the system is made by bonez. Either way I hope you enjoy whatever you decide on...I am.

from what I've heard both companies are great. I think RB has the most performance increase but I also think it costs more. It all comes down to the good old performance:dollar ratio because both systems are very good quality

The N1 has alot bigger tips(which is good to me) than the RB or RP ones. It has got to flow better since it is alot larger but what the real difference is in the sound. The N1 is supposed to be pretty loud but they do sell silencers for it.

I have the RB and I love it. It dropped like over a second in my quarter mile. The only gripe is it didn't come with all the gaskets or bolts.

Thanks for the feedback. Decision would be easier if not for the lame inspections!

Some other member had a good idea a little while ago. He said that you should get a midpipe to replace the cat, but cut the old cat "housing" in half down at the seam and then weld it around the midpipe to create an appearence of a "stock cat".

Kiyokix,
The black hanger connects after the hiflo cat and before the y-pipe. You need to rubber donuts for exhaust which connect the the factory hangers that were not used with the factory cats. Take a look, you will see them about two feet behind the single hook used on the factory cats. I just installed the same setup about a month ago. Excellent performance gain, especially since my cat was plugged.

As for the ports opening, I thought that system has enough backpressure. I thought only 1-2 psi was required to open them.

The RP50 exhaust that Rotary Performance sells is just a Dynomax system that has been painted black. I sell many Dynomax system through my shop and have compared them numerous times. The part numbers that are on the mufflers are identical. With that said, either one is a great exhaust and the Dynomax can be ordered through Summit for around $275-$300. The part number is 17440.
Later,
Ben

I have that exhaust.....doesn't last long. Get noisy(er) after awhile. But, performance wise...a good investment.
