Racing Beat Downpipe Questions

While changing the gasket between the turbo and the precat pipe. The flange on the end of the precat pipe broke off. So now its loud as hell and really annoying. I really want to get the racing beat turbo exhaust but cant afford $700 right now. I see the DP is $125 but i have a couple questions. Does the DP have the hole for O2 sensor and can it bolt right up to that straight pipe between the 2 stock cats? Thanks

Well, the downpipe should eliminate the two precats and the straightpipe/midpipe will replace the main cat.

The only way to make use of the downpipe w/o purchasing the presilencer offered by RB would be to get a highflow cat fitted or to just get a midpipe made by a good muffler shop.

If you're interested in any RB products please PM me and I will provide you with the forum discount. Do remember that you will not be smog legal and will in effect remove all cats unless you purchase a hi-flow one.

Thanks, Rishie

The RX-7 Fashion 3" downpipe is $199 or so, but it will bolt to the stock main cat, and it's stainless steel.

A friend of mine bought the DP and MP from them last year and the quality was excellent.

Smile Bonez Brand

I have been running a Bonez down pipe in my "86NA for three years now. It replaces all the cats and bolts right up to the stock manifold and "Y" pipe. The O2 sensor remains in its original hole in the cast iron manifold.

The Bonez pipe has a fitting attached to it for the 6 port actuating line.

This pipe is made of aluminized steel. Not as durable as stainless of course but I am well satisfied with it so far. It has around 30K on it and still looks very solid, with no evidence of corrosion or rust.

The RB DP/presilencer is definately worht the money as far as construction and quality goes. It has the O2 sensor hole in it. If you get the DP and presilencer, it bolts right up to the turbo and the catback that you have now.

DAve is right. I forgot all about the Racing Beat stuff. The 2.5" downpipe and presilencer is a great combo. I had it on 2 cars. You'll definitely notice a huge power increase with them. The price is pretty good too--about $260.
