awd has nothing to do with it imho. awd is not necessarily any better for a sports car than rwd. the gtr engine and sheer toughness are what it's got going for it, as well as a much harder edged handling set up.

The Skyline is not nearly as nimble as the TII. It may have more power but the car is heavy and the 4wd doesn't necesarily help it on dry tarmac.

RX-7's are the pinacle of getting the lowest time for your power to weight ratio. The RS RX-7 (99 I think) will run equal track times to the Vspec II R34 even though it has significantly less power. In other words " the 7 can't lose"

I'd definately take the TII, even though I already have a TII.

Skyline for sure. They are good looking, rare and fast. I'd trade my FC for one in a heartbeat and I have put over 20k in aftermarket stuff on my FC.

Ok... i have one word for which the skyline has the seven BEAT...... Torque!!!!!
OK... now if I had to choose... Bang for you dollar would be the seven... turning heads would be the skyline... speed... would be the seven lighter and reacts better to proper mods! parts are easily available for the 7 but not for the skyline! so all in all I would pick the seven... But in the end.... if you do get a skyline... we will have to meet at a track sometime... in the good old Western Canada!

Id go for the R32 for a couple reasons, but mostly because you don't see many skylines driving around, so you would turn TONS of heads like jreynish said. Also because if I could get a skyline for only $2000 more than a 7 then it would be too good of a deal to pass up! just my opinion tho.

jreynish: come out to one of the V8less events in Alberta! I also believe V8less is going to be hosting an event in Saskatchewan.

but back on topic, after doing some thinking & reading everyone's feedback, I think I will keep my TurboII.

what parts would you want for the Skyline that would be so hard to find? i don't doubt this by any means, just like to see a list (or info backing up a comment). more curiosity than anything. just wanna see what everyone comes up with who said it.

My friend owns a 92 GTR 32, all aftermarket companies here in the US dont sell anything for the Skyline. HKSUSA, Apexi, Greddy/Gracer ect...He has to order them all from Japan thus means more $. He's taken his car to the dealer before and they didnt even know what it was. Nismo has some parts but are damn expensive to get. There are some people who know how to work on it but not much. He pretty much relies on his friends and stuff to help to do the work.

i was thinking some aftermarket would be somewhat easy to get around. i mean, i don't plan on buying a turbo kit for my 7even; this can be done custom. same with the Skyline. i'm sure some american (included a-spec imports) oil filters will work. spark plugs i do not know. spark plug wires -- maybe something that is long enough and fits. exhaust can easily be custom just as i plan to do.
i was thinking the hardest parts would be stupid things that break. that's why i was asking specifically.
custom turbo system/intake; haltech; custom exhaust. don't know what else i'd do to that car. i believe their bottom ends are hefty, so leave it stock. just don't blow up. then again, i don't believe skyline engines are rediculously expensive, either.

What the...????? R32 GT-R is at least $30k from Motorex. It costs about $10k to legalize them through Motorex even if you can import one by yourself.

On the other hand, the best FC TII you can find for sale is $10k or less.

Am I missing something here? I don't see how those two cars are comparable in price...

Performance wise, I choose FC, but that's just me. I don't like heavy cars, and GT-R is a pig although it has more than enough power to move its heavy ***. But given that both are properly modded, FC will turn corners faster than GT-R due to the weight advantage. FC is more of a driver's car IMO. GT-R is an awesome car, don't get me wrong. It all comes down to personal preference and needs when choosing a car.

But... if I could have the GT-R for $2k more than what I paid for my FC, as much as I hate to admit it, I would take it in a heartbeat.

If the skyline is a GTR 2.5or 2.6 Get it.... I wouldnt bother with the 2liter Or the GTSs. There great cars but not all that exciting. Unless you wanna do a transpklant hich will cost bucks. We've done a few conv. A friend of mine has dumped over 55000 dollars into is 2.5 Turbo engine... He didnt wanna go the easy wasy and drop the RB26DETT.!! Go figure!

By the way. Skylines R32 shouldnt cost you any more than 15000-20000 shipped. You may be able to get an R33 or even R34 for 30G

That was in reference to spending money on buying S5 tails for an S4 and painting the bump strips on S4 cars. It has nothing to do with the look of the FC or skyline. The FC and all 7's for that matter look great stock. but the skyline is not easy on my eyes stock or otherwise.
