(R) terminal

ok. on both s5 and s4 alternators L terminal goes to dash. i can wire that up

on s5 alt it has 2 going to battery. i can easy wire that up.

but....S terminal goes to bat on s5
but

(r) terminal on the s4 goes to the ignition switch
...
how do i wire up the s5 to the s4 wireing harness for the ignition switch?

do i tie it in with one of the wires going to the battery?

Yep, this has been covered, even by me. The "S" terminal on the S5 alt needs fused constant 12V. Where as the S4 alt uses switched voltage source.

Yep, a 30 AMP inline fuse from between the S terminal and the Battery is a good idea. If something happens, at least you arent hardwired to the batt.

What happens when there's short in the main power wire from the alternator and the battery +?
