Quits at 6500rpm - rtek 2.0 & fuel cut?

I just took my 87 TII out for a spin last night for the first time since I have owned it (may-06) and I boosted in 2nd gear and it chokes when around 6500rpms, as if I let off of the throttle completely. I have an rtek 2.0, RB turbo back, ported wastegate (30mm) and factory intake. I'm not sure what the deal is. The boost is around 7 psi, according to the mech boost guage, pda, and factory guage, when this happens. New fuel filter, fresh gas, fresh oil, fresh coolant to the top of the filler neck, timming in spec, no vac leaks (new lines), no emissions lines, new plugs & wires, and TPS set as FSM says. I do have the factory BOV still on there. Would that be causing it to do this? Side note, I ran the FPR straight to a post TB vac source when removing the solenoid rack. I don't have a pill in the line to the pressure sensor, but the boost builds nice and smooth with no hickups at all, then it quits at 6500rpm.

I have been so excited about driving the car! It just feels like heaven to drive it! The turbo spooling is like nothing else on the planet. I had the car all put back together a month ago, but was contemplating driving it with the stock wastegate size, but then took the turbo back off and made the hole BIG!

reset the Rtek to factory specs if you are worried about it. I know there is a reset feature. Otherwise you could probably get a T2 ECU for like $20 if you really are convinced that it is the problem. swap it in and see what happens.

Oh and put the restrictor pill in. isn't it only a few bucks from the dealer?

Might want to try a ground wire off the pressure sensor ground wire. This was causing a hesitation on my S5.

My car does exactly the same thing, right at 6500 it feels like you just let off the throttle really fast. I have the stock ecu though. Mine does it when i drive up to 6500 whether its under boost or vacuum, but it doesnt do it if i just rev it.

I have asked about it but people all have different opinions. But if you get yours fixed PLEASE let me know what you did!

I will do a run in the next day or so and will try to log it on the pda. The autolog function didn't work as intended last trip I'll try the pressure sensor ground and see what I get. Neutral revs up like a champ.

I removed the fuel sender today to see if the filter sock was plugged and to my surprise, it was sitting under a layer of rust and stuff. I took it our and cleaned all of the rust off of it and soaked the filter sock to clean it and then removed all of the rust that I could. I will run all of the gas out and drop the tank and clean it the right way. I do think it was having a problem getting fuel now :/
