Quiet down the NA exhaust

I must be getting old because I'm tired of the header + silencer noise level. I'm not willing to give up the power so I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried one of these (or something like it) in the collector:

Thanks Vosko! Ok, barring the obvious solution of putting a turbo on the car, does anyone else have any ideas?

(Guess I should have know that a turbo guy would hi-jack my thread!)

Those only make a very small difference on piston engine cars so imagine how they'll work on a rotary. The key is to place them in the header collector where energy is the highest. The farther back it is the easier the gasses flow through it and the less it does. Remember heat is energy too and lots of heat is lost by the time the gasses get to the back. I'm not sure that thing would live very long that close to a rotaries exhaust ports.

Yeah... Saw that. Would have to figure out how to fit it into a 2.5" inch collector. I've seen another type of these products in the summit racing catalog. Different design but same concept.

I'm just wondering if it will a difference in the noise department.

As for the heat? This product is made from 304 stainless. Should be fine. The carbon-steel header would melt first.

The stock mufflers are not that good at making it quiet. I put on Racing beat mufflers and they are MUCH better. They also flow better. Best of both worlds. Just takes $$

Make sure to get the NA versions as they have MORE muffling cabablities. The turbo versons have less (as they need less).

With the exhaust I have the car is only a little louder than stock. I expect with a header it would be louder but liveable.
