quicky on TPS adjustment (need answer asap)

I have a few simple questions. I saw the FSM and since i have an ohmometer ( i guess thats what its called) i thought i'd check to see if adjustment is needed;
(btw, idle is bad, but when i turn the ac on it evens out)

How do i get the harness from the TPS off without breaking it..its a weird one.

Do i test it w/ the keys in the ON position?

Do i test the part that touches the intake manifold, or coming from the wiring harness?

Should i set it so the resistance is in the middle of the FSM specs?

and finally;
The sensor above is the high and the one below is the low right?

Thanks

Jeff
