quick trans ?

goin to the junkyard tomorrow and need to know what size socket i need for the trans bolts and the stud that ties to the mount

The bolts on the trans are all 14mm I believe, The one on the trans mount may be a 17.

Its been awhile since I have done that though. Why not just take the most common sizes. Or better yet the whole rack of sockets and you won't run into a problem!

Besides, you need to take a bunch of other stuff off to drop a trans.

You won't need to take the transmission off of the crossmember. Just undo the four bolts that hold the crossmember to the chassis, and it'll drop. I think they're 14mm too, but they may be 17mm. You'll also need to remove the shifter from inside the car, and it's held on by three 10mm bolts.

But, as was already pointed out, bring a lot of tools. You'll need some long extensions that swivel or some sockets the swivel to get at some of the bellhousing bolts. 10, 12, 14, 17 & 19mm should be your standards.
