Question Quick question. (regarding clogged cats)

Can irregularly high temps under boost conditions and inability to build more than 1/2 boost on a completely stock T2 point to clogged-cats?

I figured it was the cats because it would explain the no boost, and I figure since the exhaust has less room to get out it would generate more heat. Then again it was REALLY hot outside yesterday, I got to 1/2 way on the stock temp gauge it was replaced last year so I still somewhat trust it's accuracy.

Isn't halfway on the gauge normal? That doesn't sound irregular to me.

It never gets quite that far for me, and it was also starting to go above halfway and this wasn't HARD hard boost conditions, just accelerating as I changed lanes.
