Quick Question... How to take off the alternator pulley nut?

Just a quick question, couldnt find anything in FSM or search.

I need to install my dual alt pulley. What is the best way to take off the nut on the front of the alternator? And how much torque does it need to be torqued with.

Thanks

-Ben

Impact gun. That'll zip it right off.

I (and Autozone when I let them do it) just jammed a screwdriver in there.

I use one of those handle with a rubber strip. The strip goes around the pulley and locks back into the handle. Works fine for P/S too.

I'm not claiming it's the best way, but it worked for me.

Ok so ive got the nut off and the stock pulley, but the banzaitoyota pulley is not plug and play.. looks like im going to need a taller spacer so the bottom of the pulley doesnt rub against the alternator.. ugghh delays

IIRC, mine rubbed slightly when I first put it on. It may not of been good for it... but I just let it rub until it took off enough material to stop doing so.

I had to use a spacer for mine banzai pulley as well, of course I have a 3rd gen alternator If My5ABaby method worked out well enough, I would have to say go that route.
