Question Quick question on Fan Clutch and yes I searched.

Are the fan clutches interchangeble as I have a 91 and a clutch from an 87n/a. Please let me know as my Fan is starting to get loose on the fre spin.
Thanks In Adavance

No - The water pump hub centering peg is different.
Also the S4 clutch had a gradual engagement with heat rise.
The S5 is more on/off. It freewheels until its bi-metal opens the fluid port.

I have a left over used (but still good) S5 fan clutch.

I thought I might just ask in this thread since it kind of goes with the title:

Does the S5 clutch fan setup have a plate inbetween the actual water pump and the clutch, or are they connected differently?
