quick question about the tranny...

ok, when my car sits (no key in the igniton) i can shift the gears without pushing the clutch. is this bad? i was under the impression that you HAVE to have the clutch in to shift. nothing feels weird when i drive it though.

i messed up my shift forks twice dry shifting it like that.... but thats just me, i never heard of another rx7 doing that

I didn't know that, but I did notice that my trans will not engage any gear without that clutch being in. I never really tried to force it though. I kinda figured it was supposed to be that way.

it's normal. mine can do it all the time. i usually put the car in gear when i park it(after i turn it off/take out the key). most of the time i use the clutch. but sometimes i get out of the car and forget to put it in gear so i just reach in and shift...
