Quick question about oil pressure gauge

Will a guage that ranges from 0 - 100psi be enough? Or should I get the 150psi gauge?

The 0-100psi gauge should be fine. Idle is ~30 and WOT is about ~60 I believe.

I have no idea about the sender though. I would like to know as well.

Here is what you do.....

Get THIS........

from mazdatrix....

THEN you puy an autometer electric oil pressure gauge, 0-100 is fine, it COMES with the sender.. the sender screws right into the adapter pictured above

you can then install an oil temp gauge as well, or plug the other hole in the adapter off!!!

the stock sender unit is a different thread that any aftermarket item which makes it a PITA to install it there

I LOVE having an oil temp gauge.. why, lets me know when the car is totally warmed up so i can BEAT on it!!!!! (also tells me that the oil cooler is functioning properly)

The anodized blue looks nice. I have it and got mine from fc3s.org back then when it was $50. Now mazdatrix makes the same things but jacked up the price. Nice unit though.

you want make sure that your gauge will read at that ohm range. since we have no idea what gauge you are planning on using its hard to say which one for you to get.

also i chose to use an autometer mechanical gauge, but you could do it the same way i did it if you are any kind of a fabracator. i used an old oil pressure sending unit (stock) cut the end off of it so i just had the shaft and threaded part and used an assortment of brass fittings to make it possible to have an out put for each( the stock and aftermarket senders) you will have to tap the end of the old oild sending unit that you cut apart, so that the pipe fittings thread into it. its kinda ghetto but works flawlessly.

as for the gauge idle is around 30lbs and WFO/WOT is <80 so the 0-100 gauge is fine.

I will be getting VDO gauges, the link I posted was on the VDO page where it said to pick your sender unit.

I have a VDO oil pressure electrical gauge.
I have never seen it go over 90psi, and I'm running a Racing Beat 80 - 85psi OPR.

I buy my gauges and plumbing from Summit if i have the time to wait for the shipping...

Else, I just go to a local speed shop and pay a few bucks more...

I had a 100 psi gauge in my 12a-bp and it pegged on startup. I do have the 85 psi opr and shimmed the oil pressure relief valve about 1/8th". I went to a 150 psi gauge and it hits 125 on cold starts, drops down to normal when warm.

I forget the part number, but I do run the 2-1/16" electrical 0-100psi gauge.

BTW, I run Shell Rotella-T 15W40.
It never gets below 50F in Hawaii.

Sorry, but I prefer electrical ones.
I'm not too keen on the idea of snaking a pressurized hose or tube of hot oil into the interior...
