Quick question????

ive already done a search and still couldnt find nothing.I am hooking up my autometer temp gauge and was wondering if i could just splice into the stock sender underneath of the oil filter and my stock guage and autometer guage would work is the stock sending unit the same one as the autometer sending unit?i just dont want to have to pull the stock sending unit out and have to rethread it to fit the autometer sending unit in there.???????? thanks,Dave

NO.&nbsp There's a reason why the gauge has it's own sensor for it.

alright i pulled the stock sending unit and i know i have read about people putting the aftermarket in its place but mine wont fit its to big for the stock sending unit hole so i think im going to drill into the outlet hose of the water pump i was going to drill into the thermostat housing but i dont think itll be enough room for the sending unit.any ideas on where to put this thing?
