OH Quick Question

so I'm loosing alot of coolant I have a small hole in my radiator atleast I believe. Well I know something is leaking by the bottom of it. I'm loosing enough coolant every 1-2 days to make my coolant buzzer come on. its an s4 with s5 motor n/a no smoke no bubbles in coolant, Also it goes away faster(coolant) with the heater on. Sound like a coolant seal or maybe the leak is bad enough to cause it?

Ohh before you ask when it leaks(isn't constant) it drips its not a constant stream then stops like 5 mins later.

Go get your radiator pressure tested... or replace it. You use it knowing that you have a leak? Things WILL get worse if you don't do something about this. And don't use any of that radiator "stop leak" crap.

To find coolant leaks, I go to a parts store and rent a pressure tester. Its a hand pump that attaches to the fill cap of the radiator. Pressurize to about 15psi, and wait. Within 10 minutes, you should be able to see it leak, and figure out where its coming from

Yeah, I actually have one and it's a cool diagnostic tool. You can actually buy them for under $100 if you look around long enough, which would pretty much be what you'd pay a shop to diagnose the issue for you. So your first time using the tool pays for it IMO.

It also doubles as a method of measuring coolant system pressure while running, so that you can diagnose coolant seals and head gaskets.

You could run some of the uv fluid through it and spot the leak that way.

+1 to pressure testing. Is your interior wet at all?
