ON Quick I.D. of differential & pics of broken stub shaft

Hey Guys,

When I bought this car for my project, the guy told me that it had a torsen LSD in it, I had no clue if it was aftermarket, or miata or what. Sure didn't feel like an LSD, so i just chalked it up to torsens being crappy.

So at the end of the summer, I broke what I thought was the diff, and when I pulled everything out I found that I sheered the stub shaft.

Also found that I've been lied to, and the differential is what i believe to be a N/A open Diff.

Could someone just confirm this from the pictures. there are no clutches or helical gears so its gotta be right?

Its all good tho, S4 T2 lsd and halfshafts going in tonight. Excited to actually be able to put some power down.

Thanks guys!

Well, I see a helical gear...

Regarless, yes, it does look like an open diff.

Did you already have the TII diff and half shafts?

just picked up a t2 rear subframe. I just finished boling everything up and ran into an unexpected snag. The bolt circle for the t2 driveshaft doesn't line up with my driveshaft. is it possiable to use the bolt circle from the NA diff? I'd imagine drilling a new bolt circle would definately cause some crazy vibration issues.

Think a driveline shop could get the correct sized T2 fitting to go on my existing u joints?

i'm winston churchill and dundas!

Can anyone verify that i can just use the na pinion flange on the T2 Diff? If I take the flange off do i have to check any endplay, or is it just on and off?
