Question Quick A/F guage hookup question (I searched, but got wierd info) PIC

Okay I was searching last nite and came across this post; https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=102396

It seemed to cover what i needed to know, what wire is the O2 sensor at the ECU?

But I went out this morning and started to install it and my wire in that spot looks nothing like Grey. Keep in mind this car is a 10 AE ... does it have a different Harnees, or ECU maybe?

Keep in mind with the clip facing down it should be the one I circled? right?
Take a Look

What do you think?

Thx,
Robert

okay, this is the mixed oppion subject, I have my a/f gauge hooked up 6 inches from my O2 sensor, and it works fine, reads lean on start up, if you connect it to the ecu it will read rich at the start up, then go to stoich.

I believe a/f gauge are very minimal and a good egt would tell you the same thing but much more accurate, I got mine for a deal, TurboXs BOV and Phantom gauge for 90 bux, but I could have gotten other gauges like water temp, and oil temp and pressure

I realize you can hook it up at the sensor, but the wire is very thin & short... so i want to keep it away from the engne bay heat. I know they don't do a whole lot ... but it just might save my *** someday if I loose a injector or somthing, I already have the gauge, so I might as well hook it up.

Plus I am hooking up my S-AFC at the same time.. so its really no added work.

Are you suggesting that If Rpeck wires the A/F wire at the O2 Sensor raher than the wire from the ECU (O2 Sensor) that different or mixed readings will result? Is one better over the other?

It's bad to hook it up to the O2 sensor wire since it's shielded. It won't give you a good reading.

only shielded from 4 inches, you need to actually learn about something before you speak, I installed my s-afc in 3 hours with a soldering gun, just my input don't take it if you don't want it

3 Hr's?? I installed my S-AFC, A/F meter and the runs for my EBC today. I could have took a 2 Hr. nap and had it done in 3 Hrs. Nothing hard about it. Just research your wires the nite before. I *thought* I knew the A/F wire.. but that held me up 10 minutes .. otherwise the Apexi' book is right on, on all its wires. (My A/F was not Apexi')
