Quick exhaust question.(searched)

I did search extensively for this, and found no results. I was wondering if it's possible to use racing beat road race headers, and presilencer with an apexi dual n1 catback. If anyone has done this, how loud is it, and how easy was it to bolt everything together? Car is an 88 convertible. Thanks in advance.

I run the RB downpipe with apexi dual n1 catback, but I had the exhaust shop make me a intermediate pipe with flanges the same length as the stock cat was. So yes it will work, it is pretty loud and everything bolts together with ease.

So the pre-silencer won't quiet it down at all?

I bet it would, like a glass pack, I just did not put one in. I used a straight piece of pipe. There is always the option of the apexi silencer cones that slide in the tip. I bought some when I bought my exhaust but rarely put them in but they do tone down the exhaust a bit.

come on guys....

It won't work without modification. Road race header is UNCOLLECTED, meaning you will have two seperate pipes. Even using the road race pre-silencer, you still end up with two seperate pipes. The APEXi dual cat back will only have one large pipe for the "Y" inlet.

You cannot join two seperate pipes to one pipe. You might as well buy the road race y pipe and install some RB mufflers, your almost there by the time you end up doing this.

If you really want the APEXi exhaust with the road race header you would have to buy your APEXi exhaust and forget about using the y pipe that comes with it. Fabricate pipes that lead from the presilenser to the APEXi mufflers.

If you want to collect the exhaust, you might as well get the streetable header, its collected already. Collecting the road race defeats the purpose of having it.
