Quick Exhaust Question
Quick Exhaust Question
I've gotten a few good deals and have ended up with a racing beat downpipe/presilencer and a corksport catback. I'm interested in more muffling, and I'm thinking about buying a Borla XR-1 and installing it inline. Any suggestions on where to install it? I'd like to keep the racing beat presilencer and just add the xr-1 somewhere else... maybe right after the presilencer, at the start at the catback? Steal the flange off the catback, weld it up and call it a day? Think it will fit? I haven't been able to mock up the exhaust so I'm not positive what kind of space I'm working with.. thanks for any help guys!

Why do you want so much stuff down there? Your loosing alot of horse and adding ALOT of weight. If you do go the route you want right before the cat would be the best IMO

hey, id recomend selling the presilencer and putting the xr-1 in its place. ive heard a lot of good things about that combonation and it will save you the extra weight. that or sell the corksport and get a racing beat cat back. thats the set up i have and its quiet...to quiet. thats probably ur best option tho, you can still get a good ammount for ur presilencer if its fairly new, a lot of people want them.
liv - All the mufflers in my case would be straight through, so I wouldn't be loosing a lot of power. Also, cutting out a piece of piping and replacing it with a muffler will not add A LOT of weight. It will, at the very least, be lighter than the stock duals I started with.
DeclareYrWar - I've heard the same thing about the XR-1 myself... The thing is, I got my corksport catback for 200 bucks and I have to hack it up to bolt to my racing beat presilencer anyway (the corksport piece narrows to 2.5" to bolt to a stock cat, while the racing beat piece is 3"). If I'm going to cut it up and put a 3" flange on it anyway, why not slap an extra muffler in its place? Shouldn't hurt performance too much should it? Besides, I'd like to be stealth. =)
Thanks for the input guys. Anyone else?

well hell if you're gonna be cuttin it up neways then yeah, go for it and just put on the xr1 and keep the presilencer as well. weight isnt gonna be that much of an issue, besides the fact that its not like you're building this thing as a straight up race car. i was just tellin ya to sell the presilencer and **** cause it would save you from having to cut up your corksport but like i said if you have to do that neways then go for it. im sure you'll be happy with the results
dump the racing beat presilencer and just put the xr1 in its place, my setup is a racing beat downpipe the borlaxr1 then the corksport catback, when i drive around i get everyones attention especially at full throttle
