quick clutch question
i know im a dumb *** for this the other day i was running my car really hard and down shifted from 2nd to 1st thus ending the life of my clutch all the gears are fine can still power shift through all of them anyways is there anything i need to know about installing a new clutch have done many clouches just never on a mazda my car is a 88 gtu n/a
Take out the tranny. Remove the old clutch and pressure plate, clean up the bellhousing. The rest is like any other car.
Replace the throw out bearing and pilot bearing, inspect flywheel for cracks/ warpage, etc. Grease the splines on the input shaft a little so the clutch slides nice nice. Put a bit of grease on the pilot bearing before you install, just a tiny bit.Re-install. Enjoy the new clutch, and break it in properly!!
