Questions regarding Apexi N1 & N1 Dual Exhaust
I've been browsing the forums for the last week or so tring to get a feel for the best exhaust setup that I would prefer. I want to keep the Dual Exhaust setup and the one I like the most sofar, and other people seem to have, is the N1 Dual Exhaust. My question though is, is it the N1 Dual Exhaust System that everyone is useing or is it Dual N1 System , meaning is it two Single N1 115mm tip or the Dual N1 setup with the 2 90mm tip? And would anyone have a pic of the 2 90mm setup? Some of the webpages I found with pic's of it look like This , but that looks awfully big for a 3" tip. My next question is, would the N1 Dual Exhaust be to much flow for a currently non-modded FC? Apexi claims that system can handle more flow, and I don't want to creat to much flow that I'm stuck at the line ( I'm thinking of going with a RB Header/Presilencer combo also ). And lastly would anyone know if the N1 Dual Exhaust will bolt up with a RB header/presilence or will I have to do some Fab work?

The N1 duels are great. Look at my sig for a pic. They are big. I see no ill effects from putting these on an otherwise stock car.
The RB combo will bolt up to the catback perfectly.
I have no idea if mine are 115 or 90mm.

I think the difference between the Dual N1s and N1 Duals are just that, the order of the words. However, as Apex'i only offers the dual catback in 90mm I believe that most of us have 90mm if we have duals. The 110/115 or whatever the bigger one is is for the single. I guess you could get a Y pipe and use two seperate single rear sections,.. but why?

That's what I was wondering. Judgeing by the pic's, it' looks like people were useing two seperate single rear sections. Looking at 13bpower's tips, they look huge for 3 inch's. Thanks for the fast replys though, hopeing to order and get an exhaust at my front door around the same time my clutch comes so I can just do them at the same time.

The dual N1 cat back uses 115mm tips, the same size tip and canister as the single. The tips are longer and the cans are a little bit shorter or longer in length(I forget which) than the single. Dual N1's for FD's and 240SXs use two 90mm tips, but not the FC.
You can't just use two single N1 sections like you mentioned.

i've got the RB header with presilencer combo matched up with an Apexi N1 single and its great. other then losing the dual, the single is cool. if you don't want real loud though, don't get the N1, its deafening sometimes.

1) "N1 Muffler" - A catback kit with catback piping and one 115mm outlet muffler.
2) N1 muffler - A custom exhaust system that just happens to use a N1 muffler, which has a 115mm outlet. Apexi does not supply any piping for this setup.
3) "Dual N1 Muffler" - A catback kit with catback piping and two 90mm outlet mufflers, and I think the muffler inlet is 60mm.
4) Dual N1 mufflers - A custom exhaust system that just happens to use two N1 mufflers which have 115mm outlets. Apexi does not supply any piping for this setup.

Despite the fact that the picture is incorrectly placed in the "Dual N1 Muffler" link, my car actually has two N1 mufflers attached to a custom exhaust. Inlet is 80mm, outlet is 115mm. I don't remember the can size, but it is larger than the 120mm cans of the "Dual N1 Muffler" catback system.

Okay, the Dual N1 catback for the FC does not have 90mm tips, it has 115mm tips. The canisters are the same diameter as the single, just different lengths.
I have both systems sitting in my garage, so these are facts....I'm not just guessing.

I think the original Dual N1 did come with the 90mm tips. I remember seeing one a few years ago and thinking they looked smaller than the single. So, they may have changed the size of the cans a couple years back. But, I know for sure they come with the big cans now. All of the pictures I see online also have the 115 tips.

It is quite possible that Apexi changed the muffler, or offers the 115mm tips as an option, but I have not seen this advertised anywhere. Besides, I think the smaller cans would be better for most applications.

the pic I linked came from this site: http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=11&part=3 . I think the pic at the top of the page may be alittle bit closer to the real thing. There was also another site I found selling the exhaust that showed the tips the same size, but the car was black, and I have lost the site address . Has anyone bought the N1 Dual system in the last few months that can confirm the tip sizes? Apexi's price guide list's the tips as 90mm, but the part number doesn't match up completely, it's off by one digit ( a K instead of a Z ).

The pic in the link posted above shows 115mm tips, like mine.
Here is mine with duals and the single that was on it before the duals:
I know these pics are terrible. If you guys really don't believe that these are the same size, I'll go out and take pictures of both. I don't want to because it's cold as *****, but I will if you want me to.

Very similar indeed! You need S5 tails!!
Those pics with the duals were from last summer, before the car went under the knife.
Oh, and I've had the exhaust for almost a year I think. But, I bought it used from a kid in CA that had it for a year before me. So, it's at least 2yrs old.

Bump to see if anyone else has bought the N1 Dual system recently and can confirm tip size. 2 years old, apexi just might have changed the system. I'm going to head to the local performance shop tomorrow and see if they might have one, or anything like it, in stock and check it out. My paycheck is burning a hole in my pocket and I'm about to explode if I can't spend it!

Prosthetic head.
Does this --> http://www.apexi-usa.com/exhausts_n1dual.asp come welded together like in the picture? Or can you get two seperate mufflers for the same price as the one pictured?
Tell me that made sense.
Hah. I wish I had that dillemma.
