The Vert ECUs are a little bit different, i'm trying to find the Code for it. Mine is actually reman from Mazda (was in the car when i got it) the main difference that i can tell is that i have a working knock sensor that the ECU takes into account.

Umm, I hear the only NA ECU that recognizes boost was the 88 vert...none other.
I would love for this to be incorrect because I have an 89 vert..
Anybody else want to shed light on this?

Yes, didn't realize it until I plugged in my SAFC-II and noticed the knock sensor wire was there, and even more surprised that it worked.

And According to www.rotaryressurection.com any Vert ECU should work as long as it's the same year.

There was a whole thread about the 'vert ECU a while back.

Bah! I shall run the T2 engine with the high compression rotors on the stock Vert ECU with an SAFC and larger injectors and better fuel pump. I'll find out for certain!!

It's just a few months away...lol...

With proper tuning it doesn't matter almost. There was a guy with an all out race car running 20B peripheral port with 10:1 comp renesis rotors and a huge turbo. Proper tuning makes a lot possible.

OK..in defense of the S5 6 port turbo people, I will chime in.

I have a S5 (9.7:1) 6 Port Turbo (91 Vert). I have used the stock ecu (N353), the turbo ECU (N370) and an EMS. I am using the stock Throttle body and intake manifold. The exhaust manifold is from a FD as I am runing a T 62. The pressure sensor was from a T2 (N370). I started with 6 PSI and I am up to 10 PSI. This will keep it safe as it will spike to 12 PSI.
For those of you who are wondering how fast....... 5.0 for breakfast, WS6 or Camaro SS for lunch..... and I am still looking for dinner (vette). Maybe afterward I will try desert (wsx, evo). I have to take it easy...the car has only 140 miles since rebuilt.

I am running a TII motor with s4 NA rotors. I started get detonation at 15 psi with the stock IC and a poorly tuned microtech. I run 8 psi normally, on 89 octane, with the stock IC.

During xmas break, i will be upgrading turbos and installing a fmic, as well as taking the car to a dyno and having it properly tuned. after that i hope to run 12 psi.

on i side note, i ran the car on the stock ecu at 8psi on 87 octane for about 8k miles with NO problems whatsoever.

I dont have much experience with s5s, but i think that with the lighter (thinner) rotors and the higher compression, not much boost would be possible.

Let's see some numbers on this "beast" So you're running a rebuild with 140 miles, and running low-mid 12s? That's what, 375-400 HP?

I would also like to hear from some s5 turbo'd 6 port guys, cuz I am thinking about it but with most of them blowing the motor, I want to hear some success stories.

Guess I'm the craziest.

21psi BNR Stage 3 Hybrid
Stock (s4) N/A ECU
S-AFC
550 pri 1000cc secondaries

Don't ask for the timeslip, because I refuse to post it. Btw, I could beat half those cars listed in N/A form, let alone when I turbo'd it.
