questions about TII

I have an 89 TII, I have read some things about not putting an exhaust and intake on it until I upgrade the fuel systems. What exactly is needed to make my engine safe for exhaust and intake. Any info would help, thanks.

no, it tricks the ecu into thinking that yuo're not making more than stock boost so it keeps the ecu from cutting fuel (it does this when there's too much boost, i don't know why, it's stupid like that). the S-AFC is what controls fuel output, but this is also something very important to get, or anything to control your fuel when modding a turbo. i would say new/cleaned injectors along with a fuel pump (walbro is a good idea), s-afc (or any other fuel computer) and a boost gauge (absolutely necessary). anyway, search the forum, there's a very good thread on here about mod lists in specific order. search for "TII mods in order," that should bring it up.

There's a lot more to it then that. FCD + user who doesn't know = blown engine.

Along with the FCD, fuel mods should be done. I say start with a FCD, better fuel pump and an S-AFC. You should be safe with that config to about 9PSI or so. Once you completely open up the exhaust and intake, get your hands on some 720 CC secondaries to go with the basic upgrades above.
