questions about my weekend projects

Being Memorial Day weekend, I could find but one way to avoid all of my family and friends... to bury myself under the hood of my 87 n/a.

I have a few questions.

I had a junkyard Fiero electric fan that I installed with a temp switch. There is a post on here, but I don't remember where it is, that explains the hookup using Auto Zone fan wiring. My Auto Zone kit did not include a hookup for the air conditioner. The previous post mentioned a hookup to turn the fan on when the ac was turned on. Do I need this? Will the temp just increase when the ac is on enough to trigger the sensor that I installed?

I believe all of the RX-7s came with a 70 amp alternator. While I know that this is technically enough, I would feel better with a larger amperage. Does anyone know where I can get one?

And last but not least, I have read conflicting reports on this forum. Can someone please tell me once and for all if removing the ACV and Air Pump on my 140k mile car at what equates to two and a half weeks before I remove the cats will cause any damage? I am a weekend warrior and finding time to do it all at once is impossible at best.

Thanks in advance.

Well, one of the functions of the airpump is to pump air into the cat to keep it cooled down a bit. Stop doing that, and the cat will turn into a lump (or so they say, I've never actually seen the results). But if time's an issue.. It seems wiser to do the cat removal now, and do the ACV/Airpump stuff later.
