questions about a/f gauge + wideband
ok gonna start the long tuning process... soon.
first, im gathering parts (a/f gauge, wideband, safc2, etc)
when i buy a gauge (i never bought gauges before) does it come with the sending unit? specifically A/F gauges. im looking at the autometer one, but i dont know if thats all i need... can i hook it up to my generic 1 wire o2 sensor, or should i buy the bosch 5 wire wideband? what do the other 4 wires go to? im so idiotically stupid about this, i have no clue where square 1 is to start there...

i use the innovative Motorsports LM-1 wide band, it has programable output up to 5Volts. on the Air fuels ratio either based on Lambada or stoich.
I also use it with my autometer adn adjust the scale of what i want to been seen as lean vs Stoich vs rich.so if i wanted 12to be rich and 17 to be lean you can make it so.
I can @ the same time simulate stock narrow band output and use this into my Stock ECU.
the LM-1 has better logging funtions then my e-manag too and is easier to work with software wise.
The support and forum is brilliant on their website and has answered all of my wideband input, logging, output questions i have every had and more.
you can log anythiing to the LM with the extra RPM unti or aux boxes . like egt , air temp before and after IC,rpm, boost etc. to limit is the max voltage you are allow to input is also 5V.
tuning via a guage is very difficult.
you want to log boost, rpm, throttle and AFR and time to best tune your car.
the LM-1 does this and much much more.
