Unhappy Question to those who have parted out a fc3s???

Hey I blew my motor in my 87 TII lightly moded, I was going to try and sell it but looks like I wont be able to get more then 1K for it, my question is about how much money have you guys got parting it out or how much do you think i could get??? I really dont want to part it out and see another 7 be sent to the grave, but i dont have the money for a rebuild and I need at least 2K to get another car, here is my thread that has the details on my car.
THANKS

it only costs 1k to rebuild if you do it yourself...
motor ain't worth **** blown... i buy blown motor cars for 500 max if they are complete.
you can get several k parting it out if you can find people to buy the parts, which is harder than it looks...

Please do not part the car, too many sevens have been lost forever this way. Just save and save and save to get a rebuild, do not give up! Kevin Landers at Rotary Ressurection only charges about $1000 to rebuild an engine. I would pull extra shifts, sell crack, work the corner, etc. to get the money, but that's how I roll

yo i had my fc for almost a year now waiting for it to get fixed..dont give up man, if u really love 7's u shouldnt be throwin it away like that, rx7s need engine rebuilds more often then regular cars do because of the nature they have to blow after alot of miles 100K or so on stock, with a rebuild you should push another 50-75k miles on it and be able to sell it for alot more than you would now

i have 2 non turbo s4's one was 1000 one for 325, one running on one rotor, one not running at all and later found the one not running is cuz the wiring harness is fucked up (fried in certain spots) so im gettin no power to the cas for ignition to the coils, but im workin on it and doing all the work myself for hte most part...

it just comes down to how much pride you have in your car, if u really love your car youd do anything to fix it even if it means not driving it for 6-9 months and driving your moms **** (thats what i am doing) , but in all in the end it will be worth ... ill soon find out how mines gonna be , mine already has 2000 just into the rebuild, clutch, flywheel and thats not including all the gaskets i need and everytihg else

Please don't part out a straight RX7 body. I've parted out my TII but ONLY because I found frame and rust damage. Don't part it out just to make a few extra bucks off it. Just take the small loss and let someone else enjoy an RX7.

Josh,

You met me at the Jax meet I had the 1989 Black TII with the big turbo etc.

My advice is this.

#1 DO NOT TAKE A LOSS.
#2 You WILL get more money by parting it out.
#3 This is exactly why I am putting a V8 into my car currently. Its a nice 1989 Turbo with 80k miles on it that was basically worthless because the motor was gone. I looked a tmy options, and selling it for a 2 - 3k loss with the mods on it just wasn't an option.

Tear it apart, take EVERYTHING out of it, put all the small stuff on ebay. The turbo rear and axels should sell easily. Take the motor out and tear it down sell the pieces that are good.
You will most likley end up having to send the chassis to the junkyard, but oh well. Alot of people act like they want to "save and RX7" but I promise you they will never put their money where their mouth is.

If you want a fast good handling car you can put cheap gas in get good milage and not worry about the motor, PM me and we can talk about V8's

Daniel

well if I can get a loan Im thinking of getting a 99-00 VW passat or jetta and taking the loss and selling it for as much as i can get for the whole thing. I dont think I want to go through the hassle of parting it out its alot of work whitch im not sure i wanna do. but then again if I part it I know I can get at least 2K in a week or so just out of the parts.........I just dont know yet.
