Question for those with the 3" TID mod

what the crap did ya do with the air flow sensor? I bought an intake with a three inch opening but i had to buy a 3" to 2" rubber coupling because the sensor is only 2" in diameter. What can i do with it so that it's all 3"?

get a stand alone EMS.... HKS makes a VPS/GCC combo that also lets you remove the AFM but its crap compaired to the stand alone setup, abd would cost you about the same.

be happy with it or be ready to spend lots of money.

the front side (filter) is 2.75" and the back side (tid / turbo side) is 3"

(out side diameter)

the turbo is only 2" or so on the inside anyways.

small AFM inlet or not. the 3" TID adds ALOT of power and torque.

The TID (turbo inlet duct) goes between the outlet of the AFM (3" OD) and the inlet of the turbo (2.5" OD), hence the name.

Putting a pod filter on the AFM is not the TID mod. Most people have no problem clamping a filter with a 2.5" ID neck onto the AFM.

well i know, but wouldn't it be more beneficial to put a filter with a three inch opening? whats the point of having a 3 inch pipe if it only has a two inch opening??

You're thinking too hard about this. Whether you fitting a filter or doing the TID mod, whatever you install has to connect to the AFM and turbo, so that's the sizes you must use. There's no benefit to going any bigger at that connection.
