question for owners of cat-replacement+presilencer

I would like to have the measurements of the RB cat replacement pipe and presilencer package for an S4 NA Coupe with Manual transmission.

I will be making my own version of those pipes and I wanted it to be close to what they had, at least the lengths so that fitment is not an issue.

As for the cat-replacement pipe, is it the same length as the precat assembly? and for the presilencer, is it the same length as the main cat?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I have an S5 NA. and the car is in the shop otherwise, I would go measure it for you. The RB presilencer was slightly shorter than the cat, prolly about 3-4"s when I bolted it up, I had to drive it down to the shop to have a coupler made that fit between the cat and the cat back, so it still fit on all of it's hangers. Also on the S4 don't forget about the 5th and 6th port actuators.

Is there anything I need for 6pi operation aside from the little air pipe coming out the side?

I have a few more questions.

If anyone who owns these could PM me, that would be great.

Great answer to a question he didn't ask Dom :-/

I have the RB downpipe and presilencer hooked up to my NA (for now) FC. It works the sixports just fine.

Now to answer your question about the size.. both of the pipes together is the exact size as the full cat stack but then after that I'd say they would not line up with the stock cats at all. I don't have the numbers for you BUT a while back I did a post on how to make some cheap true duals and the Summit parts SUM-630625 or 630630 could be used as pre-silencers for less than the racing beats. The Racing Beat unit is nice thou.. and every FC that I have worked on that had a home made exhaust was a PITA to get on and off.

No but I offered assitance with a part you could use as a presilencer.

If you are just going to run a pipe with no pre silencer then the 6ports will probably not work as you need more backpressue. Also if you are just going to run a pipe as I said just measure your cat stack and it will be the same length as what you need to fab.
