question need help???
my car only backfires when the headlights are on and the tach goes out and teh radio flickers then the car dies outs...dont know why help???????

You got serious electrical system problems...
HOWEVER... I had something similar happen to me, the voltage gauge was bouncing around, the lights were flickering and the car would die when i hit the brakes....
I found that the negative battery terminal had corroded very badly and was also a bit loose. I replaced the terminal, cleaned the battery post and the problem went away!!
Sounds dumb, but it makes sense, if you don't have good contacts, your charging circuit won't work correctly
