Question for the N/A turbo guys..

Well i have 30k on my N/A short block so i am taking all the N/A **** off of it and putting on turbo stuff.. i know i have to port the base mani a bit to fit.. i am also putting a T2 front cover on the motor for the oil return line.. i got my fuel down pat pretty well too.. my major concern is timing.. i have a MSD BTM(ya know adjustable 1-3degrees per PSI).. but i was told it wouldnt work b/c it would only retard the timing on the leading.. so i wanted to know what all you N/A turbo guys are running as far as a ignition and retard devises or what ever so i can get some ideas on the different setups and go with the one that works..
Thanks,
Dave

hehe they run TII "knock boxes" which is meant for the TII ECU...this is an OEM part. I'm not sure if it can be retrofitted onto your car though. I'd recommend getting yourself a TII AFM and run a fair amount of extra fuel for insurance. change your plugs to all 9's (NGK). At the very least upgrade your fuel pump and get an SAFC (Apexi) or AFR (HKS, it's actually cheaper and works better). only run high octane also

That's WAAAAYYYYY too much fuel; unless you mean 680cc injectors... not 1680cc.

I'm pretty sure the Turbo'd N/A guys just run stock N/A ignition. The MSD should work fine, BTW.

I'm running stock ignition with an MSD 6a.
It's just retaded by about 1 degree or so....
I'm not too worried about the timing not retarding... I just use the S-AFC to dump in lots of extra fuel in the higher boost/rpms.

I'd like to figure out how to use the TII knock sensor and the associated box.. not sure if it will plug into the NA ECU, or if it's even can be used at full throttle.

As I always seem to do, I went overboard and went Haltech. My ignition is a Jacobs rotary propack.
