S5 GTU doesn't come with a stock LSD.

^^are you sure?

I thought the gtu had one...

either way try the tried - tested - true (and not to mention throughly enjoyable) method of determination...BURNOUT then see if you have one streak or two

The other way to tell is to jack up the rear of the car and turn one of the wheels by hand. If the opposite wheel turns the same direction, then you have an L.S.D. (courtesy of some previous owner). Otherwise the opposite wheel will rotate in the opposite direction.

burn out is NOT a way to check if you have LSD
it does remove dead tire cells off your tires though.

the 89 GTU did not have one, the GTUs did however, so you dont have one unless a previous owner put one in. the only way to know for absolutely sure is to tear it open and look at whats inside.

and spinning the tires is not a good way to tell if its a LSD, my friend doesn't have a lsd in his rx7 and he spins both tires when he dumps the clutch.

Why is that? I'm pretty sure that it works.

In most cases this will work, unless the LSD is toast.

The S4 GTU has LSD. It was the lighter, sportier model in a S4. The S5 GTU is considered the base model.
