20miles to work and back 5 days a week (40mile round trip)
S4 T2
Fill up with premium twice a week....13~15 mpg on average.

O damn! That discourages me haha...

I am considering getting an S4/ S5 TII and I will be making a 30-40 round trip to work roughly 3-4 times a week, and then the trips to friends houses (max 40 mile round trip to there an back) and just regular driving. I was hoping maybe filling up once a week *20$ a tank* so I am hoping you are one of the few that gets such low mileage. How do you drive?

I drive it like I stole it pretty much, its got a mild streetport and about 20k on the motor. 90% of my miles are spent on the highway running between 75 and 90 mph with drops to 4th gear for passing the trucks out here. Though I got 15mpg running the dragon over the weekend....and that was upper rpm 2nd and 3rd gear driving >.>

Also.... My S4 na got 23+ with only emissions removal, header/presilencer and a safc to tune out fuel... and that driving was the same as well.

1: About 23 miles each way to work. Mixed city/highway miles.
2: S4 TII, Rtek 1.7, 720cc secondaries, 9 PSI, RB catback.
3: Usually fill up when the fuel light comes on around 320 miles, getting 22 MPG.

1. 11-12mpg city (@20mph, frequent stops). 18mpg city (@45mph, some stops). 22-23mpg freeway (@90mph, interstates, stop mostly for gas). 25-26mpg freeway (@70mph, stop for gas or light traffic).
2. s4 N/A. Near stock.
3. Roughly every 10 gallons. I pick some multiple of 50 miles, depending on what kind of mileage I think I'm going to get.

I just drove my newly purchased 1989 T2 from Chicago to Atlanta: 730 miles. I got an amazing 22mpg at about 325 miles in one taknk at a 15 gallon fill.

Mods:
Haltech running in OPEN LOOP (Bad for MPG)
to4b
12psi
300+ rwhp

I hammered it only about a dozen times or so cause I had to race an evo and a vette. Other than that I just kept monitoring Haltech/Laptop and tried to keep injector pulses as low as possible to save fuel cost. Car also needs *some* tuning.

when i daily drove my saab, i filled up every $10, about once every 5 days (she made an average 20 mpg, so it was easy, when i filled up i hit the reset on the tripmeter, then i would fill up when i got to 80 miles)

i havnt gotten into a regular patter with the seven yet

22 miles per day, 16-17 mpg. Fill it about once every other week, depending on what I do for weekends and whether I did any telecommuting that week.

Interesting you asked... I keep track of every fill up I've done since last May.

Date : Gallons (mpg)

5-07 : 9.241
5-18: 10.656 (17.6426)
5-25 : 9.501 (20.1031)
6-05 : 11.754 (18.4618)

7-15 : 8.806 (14.3084)
7-31 : 11.516 (15.4567)
8-08 : 6.922 (16.4692)
8-11 : 2.808 (17.094)
8-12 : 4.707 (24.4317, all highway for a test)
8-25 : 10.294 (16.4173)
9-01 : 11.080 (19.0433)
9-10 : 10.928 (19.5827)
9-19 : 5.603 (13.03)
9-28 : 12.584 (17.244)
10-12: 10.604 (17.9178)
10-22: 10.342 (18.3717)
10-31: 10.603 (17.3536)
11-10: 10.301 (19.1246)
11-20: 10.685 (19.905)
12-14: 10.493 (15.0103)
1-05 : 11.228 (11.7549)
1-13 : 7.912 (25.63)
1-30 : 9.124 (15.7825)
2-21 : 9.529 (15.1117)
3-03 : 10.598 (20.664)

Average mpg : 16.9949

That's probably 65% city. S4 N/A with wired open 5/6th ports (haven't got around to fixing that).

1. Averaged around 17mpg highway for all tanks (at varying speeds between 65-85 mph). This was for my trip to Sebring this year. There was no difference in mileage when I removed the wastegate clip and ran regular on the way back to try and stay out of boost.
2. This was my S4 GXL to S4 T2 swap
3. Filled up about every three hours lol

I expected better but the car has issues. Im pretty sure the O2 sensor is shot and its running rich.

my TII used to average around 12 mpg doing normal highway and city driving.

I don't recommend daily driving a TII

well i got a i reset my trip meter every fill up. and i filled it up last time at 189 miles (gas light came on) and it filled up 14.8 gallons... so im guess about 200 miles a tank. im guess about 12 mpg? which is horrible compared to my honda i sold... i could go 300+ on like a 14 gallon tank..

My Vert is abused as a DD with with no highway miles and gets about 225 -250 before I refill. My Turbo... gets better mileage all the way around unless I'm being completely silly with it.

1. I usually get 18-22 mpg... and get close to 300 miles on a tank
2. S4 Luxury Coupe. No A/C, cats removed
3. I drive everyday, but to different places and different times.

Hey Ishibubu... where in Georgia are you at? I'm up north around Cumming,
Gainesville, and Dalonega

1. 500 miles a month
2. s5 GXL
3. Once every 2 or 3 weeks

I get between 16-18.5mpg
(and 5mpg at the track)

I think you should make this a poll question

1. 300-350 miles a month/ Back n forth to work 5 times a week, and side trips to the bank n store, never had to really go more than 20 miles on a single trip in it yet..i dunno how my wallet would take that.
2. s4 TII with all emissions removed n hollowed cats
3. DD it..so i usually fill up 1/4 a tank every other day which is around $12 for 1/4 tank of 92 premium ...i think gas went up in the last few days so might be spending a tad bit more.

getting around 11-15mpg my car just runs stupid rich right now...and im tryin to figure out how to fix it. I can smell the richness in cabin...and it aint folders coffee, on top of that I backfire on stock exhaust..eek....

my S4 GTU gets me ~200-215 miles before I require a fill up. I put cheap **** in my car though, since it's way too expensive the way it is....

Im thinking I was getting ~14 mpg last I checked. Is the tank 14 gal?

^Unless you're modded you don't need anything other than the cheapest 87 octane you can find, unless you're like some of us and prefer one brand of gas over another. S4 is 16 gallons and S5 is 18.

sheesh

so many people getting crap for mileage...

last trip to pick up parts iirc i got 23.5MPG in my '87 TII, stage 2 hybrid turbo @12PSI, moderate streetport, full 3" exhaust and microtech LT8 EMS and i run some heavy *** 18" wheels with 285's in back and 245's in front.

gets kinda crappy mileage in town due to the port and turbo and my foot but i don't think i've ever gotten less than 22MPG on the freeway, even when cannonball running it.
