question on fuel pump cover

quick question...

I'm getting ready to glass bead the cover to the fuel pump cover. I noticed the 3-wire connection goes through the cover.

Has anyone had success In removing the pressed Inserts off the cover w/o destroying It?

It's like sandblasting, except that with glassbeading (using actual micro shards of glass) It leaves a more finished feel.

I think I'll just blast It with the connections In place. It can't hurt It seeing how I'll wrap It up with masking tape good!

it's not hard to pull the harness through the cover and put it back when you're done...
