question on coolant

question on coolant

I have a question for coolant, I have a n/a non turbo, what type of coolant does FC use, is it easy to just get it from kragen, type? any help thanks.

Ethlyene glycol (green stuff) mixed with distilled water as per the service manual. You can get the coolant at any generic auto store, and the distilled water at any major grocery store.

50/50 should be good unless you're running AutoX or something extreme. That's when you start to get to the 60 water 40 Ethglycol stuff.

Actually, I believe the manual stated 70/30 water/glycol.

here is what it say in the book from haynes repair for 1986-1991 FC.
The level in the reservoir varies with the temperature of the engine. When the engine is cold, the coolant level should be at or slightly abovce the FULL mark on the reservoir. If it isn't, allow the engine to cool, then remove the cap from the reservoir and add a 50/50 mixture of ethylene glycol-based antifreeze and water.
