How can you tell if you cat is stopped up? I start my 88 N/A up and dont really feel much through the mufflers? Also smells really really bad, and getting shitty gas mileage...Car is bone stock..

 

Well its doing something else now, just went outside to start the car. Crank , crank , crank no start (did this **** yesterday morning too, first time its ever done anything but start and run). Humm whats that smell? Smells like a flooded engine... Pull the EGI fuse... Crank, crank crank, crank crank. Reinstall the fuse and finally starts. Now when this car runs, it idles perfect, has power, and seems generally ok. Also when it doesnt flood, it starts up really quick. Wonder what the hell is wrong?

i took the cat off my 88gxl@135k and it ran so much sronger i could not belive it but we dont have emmision checks where i am

 

No emission check here either, but doesnt the 6P work off exhaust gas pressure. I know they changed that in 89 to work of the air pump?

Every 1st gen I had the cat went bye bye on
