Question on Carb???

Hey,
I'm running a carb set up on my rx7 and turbo. Do I need to pressurize the carb or something like that? Does it need like extra gaskets or parts? The carb is a Holley 750 double pumper. Please let me know.
Thanks

First of all, the carb needs to be specially prepped to handle boost.
You cannot expect to grab an off-the-shelf Holley and expect it to handle pressure.
If this first step hasn't been done, don't bother going any further.

call holley or a carb shop?

probably at least a hundred bucks, which is kind of moot when you think about how much money it costs to do a proper setup so asking makes me wonder.

because carbs are much eaiser to some people plus with the use of a carb, ter a certain extent an intercooler isnt 100% necessary.

Thats gotta be one of the dumbest things Ive heard in a while.

With a draw through carb, obviously, you CANT use a IC.

With a blow through, you get the same benefits of intercooling you do with EFI. The only thing is because EFI can change timing and fuel, and a carb.. cant.. youd probably want it more for margin of safety.

I've seen boosted carbed setups and it is possible to use a non boost prepped carb. You just have to fullly enclose it in a seled box as part of the intake. But then it's hard to access to tune it. There shouldn't be any problems with air leaking in or out where it isn't supposed to go, because all sides are pressurised, so it's no different than if it were at atmospheric pressure in that regard.

Fuel injection is much better for boost, as you can tune it more precisely, it'll drive much better, and it'll be more powerful and reliable.

Regarding non-intercooler blow through systems...I have seen (and been in) cars set up with blow-through Webers which would actually ice up the carb under boost...Latent heat of evaporation and all that...

Not that I would EVER recommend ANY carb over fuel injection, of course.

How do you do blow through webers? Low boost? Or a really big 'airbox' around them?
