Question about the sunroof motor
I'm rebuilding one, and I find this odd little contraption.
It's this gear setup sitting on a spindle outside of the actual casing for the motor. One gear is on a shaft extending from an internal gear, and it only has three or four teeth on it. The teeth are oddly shaped and spaced. As this thing turns, it only teeths this larger gear once per turn, which hardly turns the larger gear at all, but slowly over time, it does perform a full revolution. Anyway, there is a wheel hooked up to what looks like some kind of electrical regulator, and it runs along the outside of the bigger wheel. Every one revolution of this bigger wheel, there is a gap in the outer wall, and the wheel will roll into this gap and then roll out. When it rolls in and out, the switch it is hooked up to makes a click.
It seems like some kind of electrical regulator...
Can anyone tell me what this thing is doing?
