Question about securing pineapple sleeves?

Being that everbody is a little nervous now about putting in pineapple sleves after some motors injested them I was trying to think of possible solutions.

The MAIN question is:

In side housings, does the slot that the stock sleeve fits into dead end the same way as the sleeve, and how much space is between the end of the sleeve and the end of the slot when everything is installed correctly.

If there is next to no space, and the slot is also just a flat dead end, I was thinking that if a flush fitting screw was placed thru the back of the sleeve and into the pineapple insert, and placed offset from the center, it should solve all the problems.

The close proximity to the back of the housing would prevent the screw from reversing itself, the offset from the center would require the insert to move excentricly to unscrew, which cant happen, and since the screw cant ever leave the insert the insert will never slide back and forth to fly into the engine.

If youre that concerned, I would drill a small hole in the end of the sleeve, and tack weld the insert in.
