hey guys, i took this pic to which i believe it's the oxygen sensor with the wires cut-off. can anyone confirm this and if it is, which are the wires to connect it to? the second pic is of the starter with wires sorta dangling.

That one looks like it's way farther back on the exhaust than mine. I've got an '86 N/A, and I can get to mine from the engine bay, just about even with the bell housing, passengers side. My connector is right above the bell housing, hard to plug and unplug, or to hook up a DVOM to check out your O2 Voltage readings.

That's an oxygen sensor alright. What it's doing back there is a better question though. They're supposed to be on the rear end of the exhaust manifold (NA) or on the precat (TII). Do you have headers? It may have been relocated in that case.

If I am not mistaken, the O2 sensor wire is a shielded gray wire that comes out of the harness from around the primary injector area. It is shielded, so you need to make your connection to the INNER wire and not the braided shield.

ok...dave (misterstx69) told me a location to where the o2 hooks up. when i checked (told me behind the tb near the lim) there was no wires or a plastic connector/wire anywhere. here are some pics for you guys to check it out.

The connector you are looking for is a pale green. The male and female ends, when connected, look similiar to an inline glass fuse connector, just a little shorter.

^^He's right. The O2 sensor wire connector is green, and the connector coming off the O2 sensor that connects to it is white, at least on my 88 SE. I actually just rewired mine today, for my RB header.

Aaron, regarding the shielded O2 sensor wire... I just soldered my old one onto it, twisting the wires around each other. Will it get a good signal that way?
