question about exhaust system.

Alright so my exhaust system consists of the stock exhaust manifold. you know the one that has 13B stamped on it. and i took off the fake dual exhaust cuz it was just clamped on and was one leaky bitch and I threw a single exhaust system together consisting of a rotary performance racing pipe and a magna flow catalytic converter with a 4 inch cone shaped fart can. My question is about the two connections for the air pump and the 5th and 6th port actuators, so theres a tube coming off the cat converter and a tube coming off the racing pipe. Which do I connect to the actuators and which do I connect to the air dump or whatever that bigger hose is? Right now I have the racing pipe connected to the smaller hose which is for the actuators. and the converter is just sitting there cuz i dont have a connection made up for it yet. thanks for the help guys. 86 na gxl

Don't bother hooking the 5th/6th ports up to the exhaust.. They'll never open at the right time. Check out the thread a little ways down for the airpump activation method.

If you're retaining the ACV you can hook the tube on the firewall side of the LIM to the tube coming off of the cat. This supplies air to the cat so it can light off and work properly, otherwise it'll just fail quickly..

On a side note.. If the Police or headaches start catching up with you for the huge single exhaust, go for a Racing Beat catback - it'll sound great when you're on it, quiet when you're not, and last a million years. B) [Disclaimer: I'm a huge RB fanboy]

awesome thanks for the info. Yeah I had my my 5th and 6th ports opening up via air pump. I hacked into the hose right behind the air pump and fed it to the 5th and 6th ports but I wasnt sure it was working properly. I had a valve attached as well but I think that was making it have less air flow. not sure. I adjusted quite a bit. Im going to give it another try and do some extensive testing this time. last time I just dabbed some grease on the little actuator arms and went for a spin but i didnt notice anything so i would adjust the valve and test again. still didnt find anything out. The actuators dont seem to open when in neutral so i guess i cant test in neutral. anyways thanks for the info I thought I would need air flow into the cat but wasnt sure. I will be attaching my cat convertr to the acv (bigger hose)

NP! ^_^

Hmm.. Your 5th/6th ports should open in neutral off of the air pump, if they're not then they wont under load either. Are the arms frozen? RTV'ed gaskets? [thin coat on both sides, the paper gasket always leaked on me without it]
