Question about data
i have an 88 fc full stock na, i know its to old for obd 1or 2 but it has ecm/ecu that would plug into that for me to check the sys for a faulty electric peace of equipment?
Yes, Mazda has this thing they use called a breakout box. Essentially all it is, is a big box with male and female ecu connectors on it, a huge dial, and a digital multimeter. You unplug the ecu, plug in the breakout box, then plug the ecu in to the breakout box. Turn the key on, and the breakout box will read sensor voltages to you one at a time. So you can check inputs, outputs, reference voltages, etc.
In all reality, it's a complex and overpriced piece. All you need is a multimeter and a paperclip to back probe the ecu connection.
