Question about automatic windows.
This is missing in the car I have.
My question is, if that is replaced, are the windows, going to work. Meaning that without that piece it prevents the driver side from working as well. So after buyin and installing that, all the power windows should work?
Let me know what you think, because im not going to buy it, if its not going to fix the windows completely, because the air conditioning does work.
Thanks,
Mike

Not having the passenger side switch installed does NOT prevent the drivers side from working. You have other problems, and is more than likely just the switches. The contacts on the switches gets dirty very fast, and need to be cleaned sometimes.
If you pull up on those wires there, you will see the connector where you can disconnect it. Both my switches were bad and my A/C DIDNT work. And I live in Louisiana! The only "A/C" we had was the sunroof!
My advice. Get the drivers side first, as it can control both windows. Then, in time, replace the passenger side switch. There are some sets for sale here on the forums. Check out the Parts For Sale forum for the 2nd Gen. Ive seen sets going for $50, or individual ones going for $30.
Good luck.
**EDIT** Now that Im thinking about it more...I may be wrong. You may NEED the passenger side installed to make the circuit in order for the drivers switch to work. It's been more than a 1 1/2 years since I messed with mine so I cant remember. But Im pretty sure now that it DOES need to be installed in order for the driver's switch to work.

Thanks for the answer. I talked to the mazda dealership here in town, and he said that if I get the part and it doesnt fix anything he will send it back no biggie, because I talked to him in advance or something. So I'm going to give it a shot, if it doesnt work, I'm not out any money.
