Question about 10AE floormats

Hi Everyone:

Question gear towards you 10AE owners. I was wondering, for the 10AE badges on the floormats, how are they fixed on the mats? Are they sewn in? or glued in? Reason I ask is I got some replica badges made (I'll post them if anyone's interested) and I want to put them on the original carpets but I want to be true to the original. Thanks in advance

they are sewn in. i have the original badges from the original 10AE floormats in my 10AE. at some point before i owned the car the previous owner must have cut the badges out of the floor mats and placed them in the owners manual binder. here's a pic. i turned one over so you can see the original backing and see that there was no evidence of glue:
